"A hint of Garnacha gives a big, red-fruited lift to the Mencía. This is a vivid, crisp, crunchy, organic Bierzo, all about juicy dark fruit and no harsh edges. Pun clearly intended with the name, but it’s definitely more elegant than vehement", Vehemencia 2014 was selected and rated with 91 points by Sarah Jane Evans, MW as featured in Decanter magazine Bierzo Mencia Expert's Choice (March 2017). A modern version of classic elegance. A truly expressive Mencia red with plenty of flavour and body, dressed in magnificent cherry red, without compromising a smooth, velvety palate. Genuine vehemence and passion for life turned into red.
Winemaking: 100+ old vines, low trailed. Manual harvest in the early day hours. Yield of 3,500Kg/ha. Maceration with cap punching plus rack and return for best colour extraction. Fermentation controlled at 24ºC. Clarification and stabilisation through continuous racking.

Unexpected, enjoyable
Decided to try something different from the usual Spanish riojas and riberas and very happy I did: wholesome, warm, velvet red. Thoroughly enjoyed it

Dark, full-bodied red, very nice bouquet. Very good to drink on its own, excellent value.
Very nice dry red wine
