Soldadito Marinero Muscat Valencia

00050316

Soldadito Marinero by Ontinyent, Valencia family winery El Angosto is a just off-dry, elegant, floral and very fruity wine for Muscat lovers. The aroma features citrus, stone fruits such as apricot and peach, exotic spices, white flowers such as jasmine and lemon blossom and a hint of rose petals. These Muscat typical aromas mixed with fresh grape become really intense as one swirls the wine in the glass. Muscat wines in Valencia and Alicante are often sweet but a few wineries have recently ventured to develop dry or off dry varietals. This one is particularly aromatic and good value.

Winemaking: Each variety is fermented separately and cold-skin macerated for 18 hours. The free-run juice is then separated from the press and racked at a low temperature (10ºC) for 24 hours. Primary fermentation occurs between 13-16ºC using native yeast. Temperature is decreased to stop fermentation and the wine subsequently filtered to obtain a residual sugar concentration of 10 g/l.

- Muscat of Alexandria: The vineyard is 11 years old and is located on the “Santa Rosa Estate “ in the Valencia Region. The land is mainly on a slope with sandy structure poor in organic matter with low levels of limestone. The vineyard is terraced with 2,444 plants/hectare.
- Muscat Small Berry: The vineyard located in “Angosto Estate” was planted in 2004, on terraced land with a density of 2,444 plants/hectare. Silt loam and clay loam soils provide well drained soil that supports healthy grape growth.
